What personal information is collected?
The GEM Road Safety Charity is unable to process a grant application if you do not provide certain information to us. We therefore collect the following information from you when you apply for grant funding: name, address, email and telephone number. In addition, successful applicants will be required to provide their organisation’s bank details.
We use tags and cookies to collect and track data on people browsing our website. This data includes basic information such as your IP address, geographical location, browser type and version, operating system, referral source, length of visit, page views and website navigation. Most browsers allow you to reject all or some cookies. We cannot identify you from this information.

We only use your personal data in connection with the administration of applications from your organisation for grant funding.
How is the information shared or disclosed?
The GEM Road Safety Charity will not ordinarily share your personal details with any third parties. In some limited circumstances, we may be legally required to share certain personal data, including yours, if we are involved in legal proceedings, complying with our legal obligations, a court order of instructions of a government authority.
Applications for grants are shared with members of GEM Motoring Assist’s Executive Council. Except for your organisation’s name, all applications shared with the Executive Council are anonymized.
How is the information kept safe?
We have appropriate security measures in place to prevent personal information from being accidentally lost or used or accessed in an unauthorised way. We limit access to your personal information to those who have a genuine business need to know it. Those processing your information will do so only in an authorised manner and are subject to a duty of confidentiality.
We also have procedures in place to deal with any suspected data security breach. We will notify you and any applicable regulator of a suspected data security breach where we are legally required to do so.
How long do we keep your personal information?
We will keep your personal information for as long as we have reasonable business needs, which includes managing our ongoing relationship with you. Thereafter we will keep your personal information in line with legal and regulatory requirements or guidance.
